Specialties

  • Perinatal and PostPartum Support

At Simply Known, we provide support for birthing parents and support for new parents post partum. We are passionate about supporting individuals throughout their parenthood journey, whether it is the hope of pregnancy,, to adjusting to the various complexities of becoming a new parent and suffering from post partum anxiety, post partum OCD, or post partum depression.

  • Trauma and EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is a powerful therapy that allows the brain to process traumatic events in a safe space in order to heal our thoughts, feelings, and how our bodies experience the traumatic event. This powerful technique reduces the distress caused by the traumatic event as well as the negative thoughts or shame associated with the event

  • Eating Disorders

From therapists who understand and who have been there, we specialize in anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and anyone who falls along the spectrum of disordered eating. We provide compassionate care to promote healing and recovery. We understand the spectrum of behaviors associated with disordered eating and the profound shame individuals experience when suffering from these disorders.

  • Infertility Support

At Simply Known, we support those experiencing emotional distress associated with the fertility journey and experiencing the emotional pain of infertility. Research shows that a diagnosis requiring fertility treatment causes as much distress on individuals as someone diagnosed with a terminal illness. You are not alone; we provide compassionate support and validation of your experiences. You are seen and known here.

Welcome.

I’m Kate Perkins, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, an Overland Park-based therapist, supervisor, and coach.

Hi! I’m Kate Perkins. When life feels heavy loaded with burdens, when you receive medical news that is hard to accept, when you’re trapped in the cycle of disordered eating, when everyday feels overwhelming, you need more support. You are not alone. At Simply Known, we are dedicated to helping people feel supported, validated, and seen.

I am passionate about meeting people where they are — helping clients feel accepted and understood, while gently challenging negative beliefs that hold you back from thriving. Throughout our journey together, I am committed to nourishing care that is person-centered with a tailor made treatment plan to help achieve your personal therapy goals.

Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it's having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome. Vulnerability is not weakness; it's our greatest measure of courage.”
